The island peak trek begins a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and passes through lush oak and rhododendron trees and the iconic Everest trek way before diverting towards the island peak. Mainly Sherpa community people live in the Everest region they have a traditional and well-deserved reputation of being the best mountain guides and unique genetic adaptations to high altitude for them. During the trek, you will see old Buddhist monasteries, stupas, long mani walls, Hillary Bridge as well as some of the most spectacular scenery of the mountain. On this trek you will reach an altitude of5,550m at Kala Patthar and back to the island peak is good for acclimatization for climbing 6189m of the Island peak.

Itinerary

  • Day 1:Arrival international airport in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel. An altitude of 1400m.
  • Day 2:sightseeing in Kathmandu valley. An altitude of 1400m.
  • Day 3:Flight Kathmandu to Lukla airport at an altitude of 2860m and trek to Phakding at an altitude of 2804m for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Day 4:Phakding to Namche Bazaar at an altitude of 3445m in 6 to 7 hours.
  • Day 5:Rest Day in Namche Bazaar.
  • Day 6:Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche an altitude of 3850m 6 to 7 hours.
  • Day 7:Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche at an altitude of 4350m in 6 to 7 hours.
  • Day 8:Acclimatization in Dingboche / Explore Around.
  • Day 9:Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche at an altitude of 4950m for 5 to 6 hours.
  • Day 10:Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep at an altitude of 5160m.3 to 4 hours. Trek to Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 5,364 m and Down to Gorakshep. 4 hours
  • Day 11:Trek from Gorak Shep to Kalapathar an altitude of 5554m. Trek down to Dingboche an altitude of 4350m. 7 to 8 hours.
  • Day 13: dinboche to chhukung an altitude of 4700m. 3 to 4 hours.
  • Day 14: Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp at an altitude of 5087m Walking 5 Hours,
  • Day 15: Island Peak Base Camp- High Camp at an altitude (5500m) Walking 3 Hours,
  • Day 16: Island Peak Summit at an altitude (6189m) And down To Chhukung. 6 to 7 Hours,
  • Day 17: Chhukung to Pangboche an altitude of 3985m. 6 to 7 hours
  • Day 18: pangboche to Namche an altitude of 3400m. 6 to 7 hours.
  • Day 19: Namche to Lukla an altitude of 2830m. 7 to 8 hours.
  • Day 20:Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu at an altitude of 1400m.
